Modibodi Gives Back

Modibodi’s vision is to build a brand that makes the world better by empowering every bodi to make real, positive change. As part of this vision, Modibodi actively supports causes and organisations close to our heart and that are equally committed to the empowerment of women.

Domestic and family violence is the principal cause of homelessness for women and their children in Australia. There are thousands of women and children living in shelters across Australia with many having little money and cannot afford feminine hygiene, and so are forced to protect themselves from their monthly period and bladder weakness with bits of newspaper or bulky rags.

Modibodi’s Give a Pair Program aims to provide these women with Modibodi underwear that is sustainable and reusable to empower these women at the times they need it.

By purchasing ‘virtual pairs’ of underwear, Modibodi will donate underwear to women’s shelters across Australia throughout the year.

DFGA’s aim is for every woman in need to have access to feminine hygiene. Part of their work includes encouraging volunteers to contribute towards and produce reusable feminine hygiene kits.

“What if not having sanitary supplies meant DAYS without school, DAYS without income, DAYS without leaving the house? Girls use leaves, mattress stuffing, newspaper, corn husks, rocks, anything they can find…but still miss up to 2 months of school every year. Worse, girls are often exploited in exchange for hygiene. It turns out this issue is a surprising but instrumental key to social change for women all over the world. The poverty cycle can be broken when girls stay in school. Days For Girls oversee (with the help of volunteers) the making and distribution of reusable sanitary kits for these women in need, which directly improve the life of a girl – education, safety and dignity.”
